Cumbuco is a hip little fishing village that's famous for the Cauipe lagoon. From there, you downwind to Paracuru and Taiba for the best spot for flat water, waves, and consistent wind. Cumbuco is 37km from Fortaleza, an old fishermen village, now very much changed, fringed with coconut trees and high dunes. A place for a jangada (log raft) ride, horseback riding, exploring the dunes on buggies, or even dune skiing ending one's ride with a plunge in the ocean. In the area there is a very nice seafood restaurant, serving fish and seafood dishes, a vantage point to enjoy the continuous to and fro of the jangadas that go out on fishing expeditions.
Cumbuco has various resorts, hotels and restaurants. In 2007 a start is made with the building of a two times 18 holes golf course.
